Hydrocarbon Charging Stand
A professional support and connection aid for trained RAC technicians working with compatible hydrocarbon refrigerant cylinders during approved R290 and R600a charging procedures.
Technical snapshot
Built around controlled hydrocarbon charging setup.
The HCS is designed to support compatible small hydrocarbon refrigerant cylinders, help maintain correct inverted positioning for liquid charging and keep critical flow and safety markings visible during setup.Stable charging support
A cleaner setup for small hydrocarbon cylinder charging.
Hydrocarbon charging work needs a controlled setup, clear markings and disciplined handling. The HCS provides a low-profile support base and connection layout to help technicians position compatible cylinders during approved liquid charging tasks.
- Professional-use charging stand for trained refrigeration and air conditioning technicians.
- Supports compatible small hydrocarbon cylinders during approved charging procedures.
- Assists with stable inverted cylinder positioning for liquid charging.
- Clearly marked flow direction helps support correct connection setup.
- On-product warnings reinforce no smoking, no naked flame and no spark requirements.
- Cylinder must be removed immediately after charging and must not be stored or transported on the stand.
What it helps control
The stand does not replace training, SDS requirements or site procedure. It gives the technician a dedicated support point and visible connection reference while working with compatible hydrocarbon refrigerant cylinders.
- Temporary cylinder support during approved charging work.
- Flow direction visibility before connecting and charging.
- Pre-use inspection of fittings, sealing surfaces and O-rings.
- Clear reminder that the cylinder is removed after use.
Charging setup visual

The inverted-cylinder view shows the HCS supporting a compatible cylinder above the flow-marked base, keeping the connection area clear and visible during approved liquid charging procedures.
HCS field guide
Use it as part of a controlled hydrocarbon charging procedure.
Before use, confirm cylinder compatibility, inspect the stand and seals, work only in a ventilated area, remove ignition sources and take the cylinder off the stand immediately once charging is complete.
Confirm the job is safe to start.
Verify technician competency, cylinder compatibility, refrigerant SDS requirements, site procedure, ventilation and ignition-source controls before connecting anything to the stand.
- Confirm the cylinder, valve and thread compatibility.
- Inspect the stand, fittings, sealing faces and both stand-to-cylinder O-rings.
- Check the work area is ventilated and clear of flame, sparks, smoking, hot surfaces and unprotected electrical equipment.
Keep it monitored.
Use the HCS as a temporary support point only. Keep the cylinder and stand under control, follow the approved liquid charging method and do not leave the setup unattended.
Remove the cylinder.
Close and disconnect in line with site procedure, then remove the cylinder from the stand immediately. The stand is not a storage or transport device.
Compliance reminder
Hydrocarbon refrigerants are highly flammable.
Use the HCS only within approved procedures, A3 refrigerant training, the refrigerant SDS, cylinder supplier instructions, workplace requirements and applicable Australian regulations.
