Pressure diagnostics

Compare two pressure points without going back to a U-tube.

The EM201B gives technicians a simple digital way to measure positive pressure, negative pressure and differential pressure. With two pressure ports, selectable scales and a high-resolution display, it is made for practical HVAC, gas service and appliance testing.

  • Measure gas supply and draft pressures in residential or light commercial systems.
  • Use the positive input for single-point pressure measurement.
  • Use both inputs to compare two points and measure pressure drops.
  • Scroll between In-WG, mBar, PSI and Pa, with Pa auto-ranging to hPa above 1000 Pa.
  • Zero before testing, then use Hold and Dynamic Min/Max when readings need to be captured.
  • Use the magnetic mount to keep the meter visible while both hands are on the test setup.

What it helps check

Use the EM201B where low-pressure readings directly affect commissioning, safety checks and fault finding. The dual-input layout is especially useful when the pressure difference is more important than either single reading.

  • Gas supply, manifold and appliance pressure checks.
  • Draft pressure and combustion appliance diagnostics.
  • Pressure drops across filters, coils, heat exchangers, supply and return points.

EM201B field guide

Pressure testing, minus the fiddly guesswork.

Where it earns its keep

Use it when a small pressure difference tells the bigger story.

  • Commissioning gas equipment where supply or manifold pressure must match the equipment specification.
  • Checking pressure switches and draft conditions where repeatable low-pressure readings matter.
  • Finding restrictions by comparing pressure before and after a filter, coil, heat exchanger or duct section.
  • Swapping from a U-tube workflow to a faster digital reading with Hold, Min/Max and selectable units.

Setup rhythm

Zero, connect, then compare.

Zero the meter in a non-pressurised area before testing. For single input readings, connect to the positive port. For differential testing, place the positive port at the expected higher pressure and the negative port at the expected lower pressure.

Zero first Dual input Hold reading Min/Max capture

Gas & pressure safety

Keep the tubing clear and stay inside the rating.

  • Check the meter and tubing for breaks or blockages before use.
  • If gas is suspected or smelt, close the gas supply and ventilate the occupied space.
  • Do not use it for water pressure and do not exceed the 10 PSI input pressure limit.
