Differential Folding Pocket Thermometer w/ T1, T2
The PDT655 is a compact folding digital thermometer for HVAC/R, refrigeration, food service, maintenance and general temperature checks where fast contact or ambient readings matter.
Technical snapshot
Key PDT655 measurement specs.
Core details for quick field temperature checks, T1/T2 comparison and everyday pocket thermometer use.Fast temperature comparison
Take quick readings, then compare T1 and T2 without carrying a bulky meter.
The PDT655 is built for everyday temperature checks where a pocket probe is easier than a full-size meter. The folding probe reads open or closed, the display is large enough for gloved use, and the magnetic back helps keep the thermometer in place while checking ducts, cabinets or equipment panels.
- Measures ambient air, liquids, solids and direct-contact temperature points.
- Calculates T1, T2 and T1-T2 differential temperature readings.
- Back-fold probe operates at multiple angles and stores neatly into the body.
- Large backlit display, Min/Max function and selectable °F/°C units.
- Built-in magnet supports hands-free placement during site checks.
- Auto power off and low battery indication help preserve the CR2032 battery.
What it helps check
Use the PDT655 when you need a quick temperature answer without setting up a full instrument. It is especially handy for service bags where a contact thermometer needs to be light, fast and always within reach.
- Supply and return air comparison during HVAC/R service checks.
- Refrigeration cabinet, liquid, food service and maintenance temperature checks.
- Simple before/after temperature comparisons using T1-T2 differential mode.
PDT655 field guide
A practical pocket thermometer for fast checks, not long logging jobs.
Where it earns its keep
Quick checks where speed and access matter more than a full test setup.
- Carry it in a tool pouch for fast verification of air, liquid or contact temperature.
- Use the T1/T2 function to compare two points without writing down the first reading.
- Stick it to suitable metal surfaces with the built-in magnet when the probe needs to stay positioned.
- Use the backlit display in plant rooms, cabinets, ceiling spaces and other low-light service areas.
Reading workflow
Open, place, wait for the reading to settle, then compare.
Open the probe to a comfortable angle, place the tip securely in the measurement point, allow the display to stabilise, then store or compare the reading using T1/T2. The scale switch for °F/°C is inside the battery compartment, so set it before heading into the job if Celsius is preferred.
Probe care & limits
Match the probe position and temperature range to the job.
- Do not exceed the -58°F to 572°F / -50°C to 300°C measurement range.
- Keep hands clear of hot, cold, sharp, moving or energised equipment while taking readings.
- Clean the probe appropriately between food, liquid and maintenance applications.
