Controlled surface heating

Wrap heat around the drum wall instead of fighting cold, slow-flowing contents.

The CDHDx range is built for external drum and cylinder heating. The flexible band design wraps around the container wall to help warm contents, maintain material temperature and support easier dispensing when products become thick or difficult to pour in cooler conditions.

  • Designed for drums, cylinders, barrels and similar round containers.
  • Helps reduce viscosity and improve flow for stored liquids and materials.
  • Useful for industrial, workshop, refrigeration and service environments.
  • Compact band-style design for practical external fitting.
  • Multiple wattage and length options for different container diameters and heating needs.

Where it makes sense

Use a cylinder or drum heater when a material needs steady external heat rather than direct immersion, open flame or a makeshift warming method. It is especially useful when the goal is temperature maintenance and easier product handling.

  • Warming stored liquids that thicken in cold conditions.
  • Maintaining more consistent material temperature before dispensing.
  • Supporting workshop or process handling where pourability matters.

Range selector

Pick by wrap length, wattage and temperature requirement.

Compare each listed heater by wrap length, wattage and operating temperature so the selected band suits the container diameter, material and site heating requirement.

High output option

CDHD0052

1000W 1700 × 100 mm

The larger listed band in the range, suited to larger-diameter drums or applications where a wider heating band and higher wattage are required.

400W option

CDHD0056

400W 820 × 80 mm

A mid-length option for smaller drums, cylinders or containers where a 400W band suits the heating requirement.

Compact 400W option

CDHD0057

400W 700 × 80 mm

The shortest listed band, with Calorflex listing silicone and polyester construction and a lower maximum operating temperature than the other models.

1 Match the diameter Choose the band length that suits the drum or cylinder circumference without forcing the fit.
2 Check the material Confirm the stored product can be heated safely and that the container is suitable for external band heating.
3 Control the temperature Calorflex notes thermostats, probes, thermal fuses and locking systems are available on request.

Use notes

Before energising a drum heater.

Treat drum heating like any other electrical heating application: check the container, material, temperature target and site procedure before switching on. The heater should sit cleanly against the surface and must be used within the stated electrical and temperature limits.

No overlap or sharp folding Fit the heater neatly around the container wall and avoid concentrated hot spots.
Confirm content suitability Do not heat unknown, pressure-sensitive, flammable or incompatible materials without proper assessment.
Use suitable controls Temperature control, probes or thermal protection may be needed depending on the material and process.
Follow electrical procedures Use the correct voltage, inspect the lead and connection, and follow site safety requirements.
