Drain line freeze protection

Ready-length kits for condensate drains, trays and cold equipment.

The Calorflex drain heater kit range is designed for refrigeration, cold room and air conditioning installations where low temperatures can freeze condensate and block drainage. The listed kits cover 2 metre and 3 metre drain runs, with a thermostatic 3 metre option for automatic temperature-controlled operation.

  • Helps prevent frozen condensate, ice build-up and blocked drain lines.
  • Suitable for evaporator drain lines, condensate trays, refrigerated cabinets and cold rooms.
  • Includes non-thermostatic 40W and 80W options for constant drain heater output.
  • Thermostatic CNFE0001 / CX-DHT3 option helps the heater operate only when required.
  • Supplied in ready lengths; the heating cable should not be shortened by the end user.

Where it helps

Use these kits where condensate needs to keep moving through equipment that regularly sees low-temperature operation, defrost cycles or ice-prone drainage paths.

  • Evaporator drain lines and refrigerated cabinet drainage.
  • Condensate trays, drain outlets and pipework exposed to freezing conditions.
  • Cold rooms and air conditioning systems where blocked drains can cause faults or water overflow.

Kit selection

Choose by drain length, output and control requirement.

Match the selected kit to the drain route and freezing risk. Check available space, cable path, bend radius, supply requirements and whether the job needs a thermostat-controlled heater.

Plan the drain route

Confirm the fit before the heater is installed.

  • Choose a 2 metre or 3 metre kit to suit the drain line or tray length.
  • Use the 40W or 80W output to match the exposure level and required heat input.
  • Select the thermostatic model when automatic temperature control is preferred.
  • Maintain the minimum 15mm bend radius and avoid sharp edges, crushing and abrasion.
DH2 kit CDLE0113CX

2 metre drain heater kit with 40W output for compact drain heater applications.

DH3 kit CDLE0114CX

3 metre drain heater kit with 80W output for longer drain paths or higher heat demand.

DHT3 kit CNFE0001CX

3 metre, 80W drain heater kit with thermostat for temperature-controlled operation.

1
Clear the drain

Remove ice, water restrictions and debris before installing the heater along the drain path.

2
Protect the cable

Keep the cable away from sharp edges, crushing points, tight bends and surfaces that can damage insulation.

3
Check the control

Confirm voltage, load, earthing, protection and thermostat placement before the heater is energised.
